Costa Rica "La Amistad' -16 oz - Organic/Shade Grown
fresh roasted coffee
organic Costa Rica

costa rica "la amistad" organic (full 16 oz)
full pound $18.95

La Amistad (the "Friend") is located in Coto Brus, a canton in the province of Puntarenas, Costa Rica and is owned by Roberto Montero, a third generation coffee farmer. Roberto's grandfather first traveled to the area in the early 1900s as part of a team surveying the border between Costa Rica and the newly formed country of Panama. Roberto's grandfather later purchased over 10,000 hectares (24,710 acres) of land and began to cultivate coffee. The family has returned more than 6,000 hectares of land to the government of Costa Rica for the preservation of La Amistad International Park, the largest natural reserve in Central America.

Roberto's commitment to organic farming pairs harmoniously with his commitment to his community. During the coffee harvest, they provide housing and free access to medical care for the seasonal pickers, because most are indigenous people from Panama who come to La Amistad with their entire family. Roberto also takes pride in his ability to provide more than 100 full-time jobs to his neighbors from Las Mellizas.

And we take pride in offering our customers this exceptional coffee from the La Amistad estate in Costa Rica.

5 of 5 Really like this coffee experience. May 22, 2016
Reviewer: Dave TERRIEN from Castle Pines, CO United States
I am writing this review while sitting by myself on my back porch as the morning awakens in beautiful Colorado. Nearing the end of my first cup I just said "Wow" to myself...this is a very pleasant top of the morning coffee experience. The more I sipped the more I appreciated this coffee's subtleties: smooth, rich... Before I go in to grab another cup, a word about another important aspect of this coffee experience. First, the 1-pound bag (a full pound!) arrived almost the day after I ordered it on line; the bag said the beans were roasted the day they were shipped I think. Thus, when I opened the wonderfully packaged bag (love the "feel", the mil. thickness and the sealing of the bag) the beans were super-fresh. I am sure this is adding to my wonderful morning cuppa. Thanks Fair Mountain for making my day! Can't wait to try the Chiapas, indeed count me in on trying some of your other roasts. LOVE IT.

Delivery was fast and coffee was fresh. I'm still experimenting with grind to get best results, but it is a good coffee. I'll certainly try some others from Fair Mountain. I'm always looking for good coffee.
